  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 12 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 8 hot dog buns
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, panko breadcrumbs, minced garlic, egg, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small meatballs (about 1 inch) and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 20 minutes or until cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, heat olive oil and marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed.
  6. Assemble subs by placing meatballs in buns, topping with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
